FAQs

Where is the shoot?

1

I'm based in Armthorpe, Doncaster, where I photograph families from my cosy purpose-built natural light studio. It's designed to feel calm, comfortable and homely, so you can relax from the moment you arrive.

What type of shoots are available?

2

I offer a range of natural & relaxed photography sessions specialising in pregnancy, newborn, sitter, one-year & family shoots.

When is the best time for a pregnancy shoot?

3

Between 28-34 weeks. When your bump is beautifully round, but you’re still feeling comfortable enough to move around & enjoy the experience.

How far in advance should I book?

4

Pregnancy sessions are best booked for around 28–34 weeks. Newborn sessions are best reserved during pregnancy using your due date, and we'll simply adjust the date once your baby arrives.

When is best to bring my newborn?

5

Ideally between 7–14 days, when your baby is still sleepy & curled up.

What if my baby is older than 2 weeks?

6

Don't worry! While 7–14 days is ideal, I photograph older newborns all the time. Every baby is different, and beautiful images are possible whatever their age.

What if my baby won’t settle?

Honestly? It happens more often than you think! Every newborn session is completely baby-led, with plenty of time for feeds, cuddles, nappy changes and settling. There is never any pressure or rushing. Some of the most beautiful photographs happen during those quiet cuddle moments.

7

My baby doesn’t sleep very well. Is that a problem?

8

Not at all. My style doesn't rely on babies sleeping throughout the session. Awake stretches, cuddles, tiny expressions and natural interactions all tell your family's story beautifully.

Can parents and siblings be included?

9

Absolutely! In fact, I encourage it. These photographs are about your growing family, not just your baby, so we'll capture lots of natural moments together.

I’m worried I won’t look my best after having my baby

10

Please don't let this stop you booking. Most new mums tell me they feel exactly the same. I'll guide you into flattering, natural poses and photograph you in beautiful soft light. You'll leave feeling far more relaxed than when you arrived.

A sitter shoot is typically done when your baby is around 6–8 months old & confidently sitting up on their own—but not yet crawling. It’s the perfect age to capture their growing personality, gorgeous expressions & those irresistible baby rolls!

11

What is a sitter shoot?

Neutral, simple clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your family. If you will in my contact form, I'll send you a styling guide with plenty of inspiration, plus details of items you can borrow from my client wardrobe.

12

What should we wear?

Newborn sessions usually last around 1½ hours. We work entirely around your baby, so there's no clock-watching. Sitter, family and one-year sessions are usually around 45–60 minutes—just enough time to capture lots of smiles before little ones have had enough!

13

How long is a shoot?

Simply complete my contact form and I'll send you my session guide with everything you need to know, including pricing, what to expect and how to reserve your date.

14

How do I book?

I’ve never had professional photos before. Will you tell us what to do?

15

Absolutely. Most of my clients say they're awkward in front of the camera! I'll gently guide you throughout the session, but nothing will feel forced or overly posed. The result is natural photographs that look and feel like you.
